Olá queridos irmãos e irmãs em Cristo!

estamos escrevendo para compartilhar a alegria do nascimento do nosso filho convosco e ao mesmo tempo agradecer pelas orações, carinho e apoio ;)

Pedimos desculpa pelo tempo que levamos para enviar notícias, realmente tem sido tudo muito corrido nos ultimos dias.

Ethan nasceu no dia 4 de Agosto de 2011 as 7:23 da noite (horario de Cape Town). Planejávamos fazer o parto normal porém o Ethan estava numa posição um pouco acima do que o médico gostaria que ele estivesse, então decidiram fazer Cesária na mesma hora, foi um parto difícil, Rosária sentiu a maioria das dores da cirurgia, mesmo estando sob anestesia, mas, Graças a Deus, tudo está bem, Ethan está otimo e Rosaria recupera-se muito bem!

Ficaremos no hospital até amanhã (Domingo) e então iremos pra casa.

Somos muito gratos ao Senhor por este presente maravilhoso!!!

Hi everyone, this message is to thank all of you for your prayers, thoughts and best wishes :)
Ethan was born on the 4th of August at 7:23pm (Cape Town time) - Sorry for taking this long for updating you, but our days have been very very busy lately!!! - We were supposed to have a normal delivery but baby was too high up so Dr. Brink decided to go for a C-section before baby and mom got even more distressed, it wasn't the easiest delivery, Rosaria felt most of the pain during the C-section but in the end all was fine, she is now recovering and baby is perfectly healthy.
Ethan was born on the 4th of August 2011 at 7:15pm (Cape Town time) with a bit more than 3,5kg :)
Rosaria's parents are around, which is a great thing, we will stay at the hospital until this Sunday (tomorrow) then we will go home.

We really thank God and all our friends for the love, prayer, blessings and support!

Gravidez!

Nosso filho estará chegando em cerca de um mês e ainda temos muuuito o que fazer e comprar, fora o dinheiro do parto que precisamos e isso tem nos deixado um pouco preocupados, por favor ore por nós e nos ajude segundo a direção do Espírito Santo.

Até então temos trêm amigos abençoados que estão nos ajudando com as coisas do Ethan - Um irmão nos enviou vários itens de bebê - Outro nos enviou uma oferta de 300 reais para o parto - E, estamos aguardando uma oferta de 1000 dólares, também para o parto. Contando com tais ofertas e ajudas ainda precisamos de R$ 4,500 apenas para o parto. Pedimos que continue orando por nós, temos certa preocupação caso nosso filho decida nascer antes do tempo.

Pregnancy

Our son will be arriving in about a month's time and we still have a whole lot to do and buy, we also still need some of the maternity fees money and this got me a little worried lately, please pray for us and help us if you feel led to.

So far, 3 of our blessed friends have been helping us with Ethan's stuff - One of them mailed us a few baby items all the way from Brazil - Another one sent us a U$ 180 offer - And we also have a U$ 1000 pledge soon on its way. With all that in consideration, we still need around U$ 2700 only towards maternity fees. I have been a little concerned as our baby could possibly arrive before time. Please pray with us.

Olá queridos, mais uma vez obrigado por estarem aqui lendo nossas notícias direto da Africa :) - Hoje fomos ao médico mais uma vez e vimos nosso filhão de novo, ele praticamente dobrou de peso, estava com 1,1kg mês passado e agora já está com 2,1kg :) - Abaixo estão duas imagens de raio-x, uma do mês passado (maio) e uma de hoje (Junho), hoje deu pra ver bem o rostinho e as bochechas fofinhas dele!

Notícias boas:

- Alguns irmãos e amigos abençoados já nos enviaram alguns itens de bebê direto do Brasil, ainda faltam algumas coisas.

- Quanto ao custo do parto recebemos uma oferta de 300 R$ e mais uma promessa de 1000 dólares :) - Ainda restam cerca de R$ 4,500 para pagarmos o parto, ore conosco.

Desafios:

- Agora a consulta médica que era mensal passa a ser em 3 semanas e depois a cada 2 semanas e então de uma em uma semana, a cada consulta temos que pagar cerca de R$ 100.

Hi everyone, once again thank you for being here reading our news all the way from Africa :) - We went to the doctor today and once again we could see our son through the ultra sound screen, he is growing very well, practically doubled his weight, last month he weighed 1,1kg, today he weights 2,1kg :) - Above this text you can see two ultrasound shots, one from May and one from today. We could see his little cheeks today :)

Good news:

- Some friends and brothers in Christ have already sent us a few baby items from Brazil, we still need a few items 'thou.

- About the maternity fees, we received a U$ 180 donation and another U$ 1000 pledge :) - We still need around U$ 2700 to cover the costs for the delivery of our son, please pray with us.

Challenges:

- The visit to the doctor which used to be monthly now will be in 3 weeks, then every 2 weeks and then every week, at every appointment we have to pay around U$ 60.

Olá, graça e paz mais uma vez!

Estou passando rapidamente para agradecer mais uma vez pelas orações e compartilhar mais um motivo de gratidão: Dia 22 de Maio (domingo agora) é meu aniversário (Thomas) de 28 anos e TAMBEM nosso aniversário de casamento, 7 anos!!! Sim, me casei no dia do meu aniversário :) - Pedimos que orem por nós pois em dias assim sentimos ainda mais saudades de casa, do Brasil etc.

E, nosso maior presente de 7 anos de casados, claro, é nosso pequeno Ethan que estará chegando em muito breve!!!

Dear brothers and sisters in Christ! How are you?

We are well! Once again we would like to apologize for not sending you our news in a while, all is well, including Rosaria's first pregnancy with our baby boy Ethan! Last week we went to the doctor again (as we've been doing every month) and we could "see" Ethan through the ultra sound monitor again, he is doing very well and growing very fast! I can't believe that Rosaria's belly can't get even bigger but it can and it will :)!!!

Our doctor told us that our baby is growing perfectly well and healthy, a little bigger than the usual, with 1,1kg and "-he's got long legs!" - maybe I should train him to become a soccer goalkeeper or a volleyball player :)

All joking aside, we are just very happy and we would like to wholeheartedly thank you for your prayers and financial support along the months...

We kindly ask you to keep praying for us, I have been very concerned lately about raising the maternity fees funds plus a few other baby items we need to buy, doctor's appointments every month... our monthly support hasn't been enough to cover it all up. Ethan will be here in a little more than 2 months and we want to be ready for him!!!

Olá queridos! Graça e paz! Tudo bem?

Estamos bem! Pedimos desculpas mais uma vez pelo longo período em que ficamos sem enviar notícias, tudo vai bem; Inclusive a gestação do nosso filhão Ethan! Semana passada fomos ao médico mais uma vez (temos que ir todo mês) e pudemos ver o Ethan mais um pouquinho através do ultra-som, ele está muito bem e crescendo muito, quando vejo a barriga da Rosaria eu quase não acredito que pode crescer ainda mais, mas pode, e vai :)!!!

O médico nos disse que nosso bebê está perfeitamente saudavel, um pouco maior do que o normal, com 1,1kg e tem "uns pernão"!!! Talvez eu o treine para ser goleiro ou jogador de vôlei :)

Brincadeiras a parte, estamos muito felizes e queremos lhe agradecer de coração pelas orações e apoio financeiro ao longo dos meses...

Pedimos que continue orando por nós, tenho me preocupado muito ultimamente pois ainda temos muitas coisas a comprar, valor do parto a levantar, despesas médicas todo mês... e nosso sustento não tem conseguido cobrir todas nossas despesas corriqueiras, ainda menos as extras. Continuamos no mesmo propósito, visão e chamado que é evangelismo através da arte, temos tido algumas dificuldades para sermos mais ativos neste sentido pois não temos nenhum obreiro fixo em tempo integral conosco, muito menos um voluntário e para este tipo de trabalho é necessário termos pelo menos uma equipe de 5 pessoas.

Temos também servido a nossa base de Jocum em varios aspectos, servindo o corpo de Cristo local.

Eu tenho também usado o futebol como estratégia para fazer novos relacionamentos e consequentemente falar de Jesus para Africanos de varias nações. Moramos em Muizenberg e aqui existem vários refugiados de guerra de varios outros países Africanos como Congo, Angola, Rwanda e tambem outros que decidiram imigrar pra Africa do Sul em busca de melhores oportunidades. Jogamos futebol juntos toda segunda, quarta e Sabado.... os amigos Africanos correm demais :) Mas tento me esforçar pra acompanhá-los. Orem por estas pessoas e pela mensagem do evangelho que ja esta sendo semeada na vida deles.... Pessoas do Zimbabue, Malawi, Nigeria, Senegal etc. Alguns são muçulmanos e varios deles ficam surpresos ao me ver jogando futebol com eles, pois tenho a pele mais clara e geralmente aqui na Africa do Sul ainda existe o conceito de separação racial muito forte.

Consegui comprar uma camera fotografica ha pouco tempo atras e em breve estarei mandando fotos desses amigos que citei.

Em breve estarei doando uma Biblia a cada um deles e alguns folhetos evangelisticos, ore por isso.

We are still firm on the same purpose, vision and calling that brought us here, doing evangelism through the arts although it has been a little difficult to do anything on that because at the moment we don't have any full time staff working with us, not even a volunteer and that makes it very difficult because for this sort of strategy to work we need a team of at least 5 people, pray for us.

We are also serving our local YWAM base in some practical ways, serving the local body of Christ in SA.

I have also been using the strategy of making new relationships through soccer so that I can share the love of Jesus with them, I play soccer every monday, wednesday and saturday with people form all over Africa, some of them are war refugees from Congo, Angola and Rwanda and also others who just decided to immigrate here looking for better living conditions. These Africans friends can run so fast, I try hard to keep up with them :) Please pray for this people, pray that the message of the Gospel which has been sown will reach good ground in their hearts and grow... Some of them are also from Zimbabwe, Malawi, Nigeria, Senegal etc. Some of them are muslims and they get very surprised when they see me playing soccer with them because of the color of my skin - unfortunately this whole thing of segregation is still very strong here in South Africa, only those who live here can tell...

I managed to buy a photo camera after a while and I will soon post some pictures of these friends of mine I mentioned.

I will soon give each one of them a Bible and a few evangelistic tracts, pray for this!

Queridos, somos muito gratos ao Senhor por todos os nosso fiéis mantenedores e intercessores, o Senhor tem cuidado de nós e não tem deixado que nada nos falte. Gostaríamos de compartilhar algumas necessidades extras para que estivessem orando e se possível nos ajudando financeiramente também:

- Custo do parto do Ethan - R$ 6,250,00 - Sabemos que é um valor altíssimo mas teremos que fazer tudo pelo particular pois como não somos cidadãos Sul-Africanos não temos direito ao acesso a saúde pública daqui, que de qualquer forma é péssima. Além disso não temos plano de saúde, essa é uma questão que eu vinha orando e compartilhando com algumas pessoas ha algum tempo, agora iremos realmente precisar ter um plano de saúde.

- Itens do bebê em geral, exames mensais da Rosaria - O Senhor tem levantado algumas pessoas que tem nos abençoado com peças de enxoval e outros artigos, peço que estejam orando pra que o Senhor continue abençoando e consigamos comprar tudo o que precisamos para o nosso Ethan, tambem precisamos de provisão extra para as consultas médicas mensais da Rosaria.

Hoje de manhã fomos ao hospital fazer alguns exames de ultra-som mais detalhados, a médica mediu os principais ossos do Ethan, cabeça, perna, braços e espinha e graças a Deus tudo está indo perfeitamente bem e nosso garotão deve nascer por volta do dia 2 a 4 de Agosto - Muito obrigado por suas orações e por favor continue orando, o Senhor tem cuidado de nós.

This morning we went to the hospital in order to have a more detailed ultra-sound check up on our boy Ethan, the doctor measured his head, arms, legs and spine and Praise God, everything is going perfectly well! The estimated day of birth of our big boy is between the 2nd and 4th of August. Thank you very much for your prayers and please keep on praying for us! The Lord is with us.

Semana passada falei com minha mãe ao telefone e ela me informou que havia acabado de chegar do hospital pois tinha ido fazer tomografia pois alguns dias antes um exame de raio-x detectou a presença de dois nódulos no pulmão esquerdo, ainda não se sabe exatamente a procedência dos nódulos e o resultado da tomografia sai no fim desta semana. Peço que orem pela saúde da minha mãe, ela está bem e não está ansiosa nem preocupada pois crê no Senhor Jesus acima de todas as coisas. O nome da minha mãe é: Rosivalda F. O. Carvalhaes. Thomas

Last week I spoke to my mother over the phone and she told me she had just come back from the hospital where she went for a CT scan because a few days earlier an X-ray check up detected two nodules on her left lung. The CT scan will be ready by the end of this week. Um menino vem aí! And... it's a boy!

Hoje fomos ao médico (obrigado a todos que oraram pois conseguimos levantar o valor da consulta com o obstetra) e conseguimos ver o sexo do nosso bebê, é um menino!!! Foi muito bom, vimos os ossinhos da coluna vertebral, braços, pernas, o coração é inconfundível! Tambem pudemos ver a carinha do bebe que chegou a tapar os olhos com as duas mãos enquanto o assistiamos pelo monitor do aparelho de ultra som. Muito boa experiência, o começo de muitas. Já vi que a Rosaria sera uma excelente e caprichosa mamãe pro nosso "boy"!

We went to the doctor today (thank you to all those who prayed, we got the money needed to pay the doctor) and we were able to find out that it's baby boy!!! Such a great experience, we were able to see all those little bones of his back, arms, legs, it's impossible not to notice the heart beating inside such a small little body! We were also able to see the baby's little face, he tried to cover his both eyes with his hands while we watched him through the ultra sound monitor. Unforgettable experience, just the beginning! I can tell that Rosaria will be such a great caring mommy to our boy!

JOCUM - cerca de 01:00 na sexta-feira, 25 de fevereiro, ladrões armados invadiram um orfanato operado por uma equipe da JOCUM em Athi River, Quênia, 50 km de Nairóbi. Um casal de holandeses, Ebel e Lora Kremer, que cuidam do orfanato. No ataque, Ebel foi baleado e morto em frente de sua esposa e seus dois filhos pequenos. Um vigia também foi ferido no tiroteio.

O orfanato é uma propriedade com uma comunidade de JOCUM, que estáva se preparando para sediar uma formatura da Escola de Treinamento e Discipulado esta noite, e recentemente recebeu os alunos para uma nova ETED profissionais membros da equipe de cuidados de JOCUM África de trauma e outros líderes da JOCUM estão no local para prestar apoio e assistência.

YWAM is devasted to report that around 1am on Friday, 25^th February, armed robbers broke into an orphanage operated by a YWAM team in Athi River, Kenya, 50 km outside of Nairobi. A Dutch couple, Ebel and Lora Kremer, managed the orphanage. In the attack, Ebel was shot and killed in front of his wife and their two small children. A night watchman was also injured in the shooting.

The orphanage shares a property with a YWAM community which is preparing to host a Discipleship Training School graduation this evening and has recently received students for a new DTS. Member care professionals from YWAM Africa’s trauma team and other YWAM leaders are on the scene to provide support and care.

Your prayers are requested for the family, staff and students of YWAM Athi River.

"It's hard to imagine the terrible pain that this family is going through right now, my final comment is: Nothing is worth it living for unless it is worth it dying for. Ebel is an example to all of us, an example of unconditional obedience to God and His calling. Infelizmente nossa scooter (Vuka scuta), uma "motinha" chinesa tipo uma honda bizz foi roubada enquanto eu a deixei estacionada dentro do estacionamento de um supermercado, isso aconteceu na ultima sexta feira e me deixou muito mal, cheguei ao ponto de me sentir traído por este pais que eu tanto amo e onde desejo passar o resto da minha vida servindo ao Senhor e ao povo Sul-Africano mas me senti sim muito frustrado e cheguei a questionar a Deus dizendo: Senhor é isso que tenho em retorno do nosso trabalho missionário voluntário em tempo integral nessa terra?

Hoje ja estou me sentindo muito melhor mas ainda muito frustrado e triste pelo roubo da motinha, fiz um "BO" com a policia daqui mas um detetive ja me "animou" dizendo que provavelmente não recuperarei a scooter :(

Tive a scooter por apenas 3 semanas, tinha pago cerca de R$1100,00 porque era segunda mão e não tinha seguro, ainda não estava no meu nome porque estava tendo problemas com os papeis que peguei da pessoa que me vendeu, resumindo, tudo muito estressante mas precisávamos de um meio de transporte aqui, eu usava a scooter pra praticamente tudo o que precisávamos, todos os dias e sinto muito falta dela, era rápida e muito economica.

Unfortunately our scooter (Vuka scuta) a 150cc simple Chinese motorbike got stolen while it was parked in the parking lot of a supermarket center, this all happened last Friday and made me feel so bad, disappointed and I even felt betrayed by South Africa, a country I love and wish to spend my whole life serving the Lord here but I did feel betrayed and even asked God, Lord is this what I get from being a full time servant of yours in this land?

I'm now in a much better space but still very frustrated with the theft of the motorbike, I opened a case with the Claremont SAPS Police Station, a detective had been assigned but he told me it is very unlikely I will recover the scooter :(

I've only had the scooter for 3 weeks and I had paid R4000 for it as it was an used item, it was not insured because I thought I could not insure something which was not in my name, scooter was not in my name yet because I was having issues with the papers from the previous owner. The scooter was my only means of transport, I used to use it for every single thing we needed on a daily basis and I really miss it, it is fast, affordable and so economic on fuel.

I am asking you to pray first and then consider if you can help us in any way on this challenging time!

Devo confessar que ultimamente nao tenho estado muito bem, tenho me sentido triste e me deixado abater por algumas circunstancias que vou compartilhar abaixo. Por todos os lados, nas ruas, no comércio, nas casas que visitamos temos ouvido as pessoas conversarem empolgadamente sobre o que farão com seu 13º salário e sempre que ouço isso eu me lembro como se num flash que temos tido muitas dificuldades com nosso sustento financeiro, especialmente desde que chegamos ao Brasil pois nosso sustento caiu em cerca de 75% desde que pisamos em solo pátrio...De certa forma tem sido dificil "aproveitar" nosso tempo no Brasil depois de 3 anos diretos na Africa. O que será isso? Seria uma confirmação do Senhor de que a Africa é nosso lugar ou seria algum outro propósito que o Senhor tem e eu ainda não consegui ver...

Obs. Nunca recebi um 13º salário nesses 9 anos que estou em missões em tempo integral - Nao que isso importe tanto mas só pra constar... Por favor ore conosco nesse sentido. Obrigado, Thomas.

I must confess that I haven't been well lately, I've been feeling sad and allowing some external circumstances to hit me and I hope that by sharing this it will help me in this process. Everywhere we walk about now in Brazil, streets, stores, family homes and others we hear excited people talking about what they are going to do with their 13th salary (a mandatory/by law - extra wage that every Brazilian worker gets at the end of every year) and every time I hear those type of conversations I remember like a flash that we have been struggling so much with our financial support especially as it has decreased in more than 75% ever since we arrived in our home land. It's been hard to enjoy ourselves in Brazil after 3 straight years in Africa and I found myself wondering... What will this be, is this the Lord confirming through this struggle that our place is in Africa and that we must go back? (by the way we are) Or will there be any other purpose I cannot see? Please pray with us in that sense...

P.S. I never received a 13th salary ever since I became a full time missionary - not that it matter that much, just for the record...

Depois de 3 anos diretos aqui na Africa estamos querendo e precisando ir ao Brasil por varios motivos. Precisamos descansar e tambem divulgar nosso trabalho missionario aqui na Africa pois estaremos retornando pra ca no inicio do ano que vem.

No momento estamos levantando fundos para comprarmos nossas passagens, queremos viajar ao Brasil no final do mes que vem (Setembro) ou inicio de Outubro. Estamos abertos a convites de igrejas para irmos ministrar ou compartilhar sobre nosso ministerio aqui na Africa.

Violencia em Moçambique, ore! Violence in Mozambique, please pray!

Desde ontem uma onde de violencia tem acontecido principalmente em Maputo, capital de Moçambique. A populaçao decidiu protestar de forma violenta contra o aumento no preço da agua, energia e outros bens essencias. Varias pessoas foram mortas e feridas, a policia local tem reagido com bastante violencia e até mesmo com tiros de balas de verdade contra a população. Ore por Moçambique e por esta situação, temos varios amigos que estão presos em suas casas porque vivem nas regiões onde estão havendo intensos confrontos. Thomas

Violence struck down since yesterday in Maputo, capital of Mozambique. Locals are promoting riots as a way to express their discontentment with the prices of water and electricity and other basic items which are supposed to go up soon. Many were killed and injured, the local police is responding with violence and even shooting real bullets at the people. Please pray for Mozambique and for this whole situation to end, we have a few friends who live in the area where the conflict is taking place and they're pretty much stuck inside their houses. Lutando com um cachorro!?!? Fighting a dog!?!?

Pois é, o inesperado me aconteceu na Terça feira dessa semana (30 de Agosto) as 8 da noite enquanto saia de casa a caminho da base de Jocum em que trabalhamos (que fica ha 3 minutos de caminhada). Logo que sai do portão de casa percebi que tudo estava calmo, caminhei alguns metros e ouvi varios latidos e um cachorro macho de altura média correndo em minha direção e pra piorar as coisas vinha um outro menos junto com ele. O cachorro maior tinha a altura média de um pastor alemão adulto e veio pra cima de mim latindo enfurecidamente... pensei: correr não é boa idéia, dar as costas pior ainda... o que fazer? Decidi correr em direção ao cachorro levantando meus braços como que tocando a boiada pra tentar intimidá-lo mas não funcionou, ele se aproximou e começou a latir e me rodear esperando que eu desse as costas pra ele me abocanhar. Tomei coragem e dei um soco de direita ao lado do maxilar dele, percebi sua expressão de surpresa e indagação tipo "hey, eu sou o cachorro cara, eu mordo!" e então ele começou a tentar me morder e eu passei a dar meu braço esquerdo pra ele tentar morder mas tirava antes que ele chegasse proximo e assim ja dava outro soco de direita no maxilar dele, resultado: Devo ter dado uns 5 ou 6 socos de direita do lado do maxilar do cachorro que não parava de latir e me ameaçar. O cachorro menor, cobaia do maior nem chegou muito perto, só ficava latindo de longe dando cobertura ao seu chefe. Tudo muito rapido, cerca de 2 minutos depois a dona do cachorro apareceu e o chamou de volta pra dentro do portão e eles foram, meu coração batia tão rapido... Fui atras dos animais e disse a dona dos cachorros "nunca mais deixe seus cachorros sairem assim, e se fosse uma criança em leu lugar?". Resultado final: Saí com alguns machucados em alguns dedos da mão direita porque alguns dos socos esbarraram nos dentes do cachorro chefe mas o bicho não me deu nenhuma mordida :). Thomas

Well, the unexpected hapenned to me this last Tuesday, 30th of August at 8pm as I left "our" house to go to our YWAM base which is pretty close (only 3 minutes away by walk). Everything seemed quiet and calm as usual as I left the gate of the house but as soon as I walked a few meters away from the gate I heard some vicious and loud barks and a medium sized dog running towards me and just to make it better there was another smaller dog running alongside with him and barking at me as well. The bigger dog had about the size of an adult German shepherd. Then I thought, what to do? Run away? Not a good idea.... Turn my back and walk away? Even worse.... Then I quickly decided to run towards the dog waving my arms and hands up on an attempt to intimidate the animal and make it run away, didn't work! He kept on coming towards me and quickly was right on my face barking even louder and walking around me trying to get me from the back so he could have a good grip. I then gathered some courage and gave him a right punch on the left side of his face, I could see his expression of disbelief in less than a second as if he was saying "hey, what are you doing? Im the dog, I can bite you!" but I kept on using my survival strategy, I would pretend I was giving him my left arm so then he would try to bite it but I would pull it back before he reached it and then I would have time and room to punch him with a right punch again... I probably punched him 5 or 6 times. The smaller dog was around too but not so close, he was only barking from a distance, maybe just giving some moral support to the bigger folk. It all happened in less than 2 minutes then the lady owner of the two dogs showed up and called them up back inside the house and they followed her so I ran after the dogs, my heart was racing and I told her " don't ever let your dogs out like this, what if it was a kid in my place now?". Final result: I got a few scratches here and there on my left hand out of punching the dog because some of my punches hit some of his teeth sometimes but at the end of the day he did not get a single taste of me :). Mais de 2 mil alunos de uma escola de terceiro grau em Cosmo City, Joanesburgo, Africa do Sul assistiram a nossas apresentações evangelisticas e então Thomas encerrou com uma palavra convidando os jovens ao arrependimento e ao reconhecimento de Cristo como unico Salvador. O fato de não termos um microfone fez a ocasião um pouco mais dificil mas sabemos que a semente foi semeada.

More than 2.000 students from Cosmo City High School in Johannesburg, South Africa were present when we performed a few of our evangelistic dramas then Thomas closed up with the word inviting the young people to repentance and to the knowledge of Christ as their own personal Savior. It became a little more challenging due to the fact that we did not have a microphone but we still know that the good seed was sown :)

Durante os meses de Junho, Julho e inicio de Agosto estivemos viajando por diversas cidades da Africa do Sul fazendo campanhas evangelisticas, este foi um dos maiores motivos de nossa falta de comunicação pois na maioria dos lugares não havia acesso a internet.

Saimos da Cidade do Cabo e passamos por Bloemfontein, Joanesburgo, White River, Durban e Jeffrey's Bay ficando cerca de 1 semana ou mais em cada cidade. Foi uma viagem de cerca de 5 mil kilometros que nós mesmos fizemos dirigindo. Thomas esteve liderando a equipe de 8 pessoas (4 sul Africanos, 1 de Uganda, 1 de Madagascar, 1 das Filipinas e um Brasileiro, Thomas :)

Foi um tempo muito especial como voce pode ver nas fotos , trabalhamos com diversas igrejas locais, evangelismo era nosso foco principal mas tambem fizemos trabalhos sociais como distribuição de alimentos, aulas de dança, teatro e futebol e muito mais.

Infelizmente não temos estatisticas precisas deste nosso ultimo trabalho mas sabemos que alcançamos mais de 5 mil pessoas com a pregação do evangelho e cremos que cerca de 800 pessoas receberam a Cristo como Salvador e estao sendo discipuladas por alguma igreja local.

During the months of June, July and beginning of August we were traveling all over South Africa on an evangelistic outreach trip and that is one of the main reasons why we were so slow when it comes to keeping you updated as most of the places we've been to did not have internet facilities available.

We left Cape Town and drove all the way to Bloemfontein, Johannesburg, White River, Durban and Jeffrey's Bay, we stayed for around a week or more on each of these locations, we drove for more than 5,000km and all that was done by ourselves. The team of 8 people from different nationalities (4 South Africans, 1 from Uganda, 1 from Madagascar, 1 from the Philippines and one from Brazil) was led by Thomas.

It was a very special time as you can see on the pictures, our main focus was evangelism but we also did a lot of social work and community development through feeding ministry, dance, drama and soccer lessons :)

Unfortunately we have no accurate statistics of this trip but we know that we reached more than 5,000 people with the message of the gospel and out of that we believe that nearly 800 have accepted Christ as their Savior and are being discipled by a local church.

Here are some pictures from our "tour" to four cities (Nov. 23rd to 27th) in the "little karoo", a nearly desertic area. We left Parow and stopped every day in a different city - Paarl, Laignsburg, Prince Albert and Beaufort Wes doing dramas and other different items in order to bring awareness about human trafficking - We have reached to more than 3 thousand people in total. We have also shared the Gospel with many who came to learn more on how not to get trapped and trafficked. We know that God's heart for people is to give them hope and a future and not to harm them. Aqui estão algumas fotos da campanha contra trafico humano que participamos. Passamos por quatro cidades da região do "little karro" uma região semi-desértica muito carente a leste da Cidade do Cabo. Saimos de Paarl e passamos por Laingsburg, Prince Albert e Beaufort Wes, parando cada dia em uma cidade diferente e fazendo dramas entre outras atividades trazendo mais informação e uma melhor conscientização sobre o que é trafico humano e como "ficar esperto" para não cair na lábia dos agentes. Alcançamos mais de 3 mil pessoas e tivemos tambem a oportunidade de compartilhar o evangelho com muitos dos que vieram aprender sobre trafico humano. Sabemos que os planos de Deus para este povo é para que tenham esperança e um futuro e não que sejam enganados, humilhados e vendidos como meros objetos. Obrigado por suas orações.

Counter human trafficking campaign! Campanha contra trafico humano!

Next week from the 23rd to the 27th of November we will join the Justice Acts crew (ministry of YWAM) on a counter human trafficking campaign to five cities from Paarl to Beaufort West in the little karoo. It will not be a evangelistic campaign itself as the Lord has given us favor to join mayors and local authorities from these 5 different cities and most of them are non-Christians and they have invited us to help them spread awareness against human trafficking with some of our dramas and dances. We hope and pray that we will be an influence and that even without words people will see light and become hungry to know more about Jesus! Pray for us, pictures will follow soon. Thomas

Semana que vem entre os dias 23 a 27 de Novembro faremos parte de uma campanha contra trafico humano promovida pelo ministério Atos de Justiça (Jocum), Viajaremos por 5 cidades saindo de Paarl ate Beaufort West no "little karoo". Não sera exatamente uma campanha de evangelismo pois estamos nos juntando a prefeitos e autoridades locais destes municipios que em grande parte sao muçulmanos, cremos que isso é um favor do Senhor e queremos usá-lo com sabedoria para termos a melhor influencia possivel. Eles nos convidaram para que os ajudemos a divulgar uma mensagem de alerta com relação a trafico humano e como ficar esperto para nao cair em armadilhas. Oramos e sabemos que mesmo sem palavras as pessoas verao a luz de Cristo em nossas vidas e ficarão curiosas e famintas para conhecer mais sobre Jesus! Ore por nos! Postarei fotos assim que puder! Teaching on the Durban DTS - Ensinando na ETED em Durban

I was teaching on the Durban DTS from the 8th to the 13th of November 2009 - The first impression I had as soon as I got out of the plane was "-wow, feels like Brazil" due to the strong wave of hot air that came against my face as soon as the flight attendant opened the aircraft's door! I had a great time with the DTS students in Durban although I had to leave my wife back in Cape Town for the whole week but I am so sure that God spoke to all of us in many different personal levels about evangelism, the great commission, using the arts for fulfilling the great commission and much more! The students are great young people hungry for God and on fire for reaching the lost. It was a lot of fun to see them practicing some evangelism approaches with each other. I also taught them 2 dramas (pantomimes) which they will use on their outreach. I arrived back home safe and sound to my princess on Friday, 13th at 2pm! Thanks for praying!

Fui ensinar na ETED de Durban, Africa do Sul, dos dias 8 a 13 de Novembro - A primeira impressao que tive assim que desci do aviao foi "uau, parece que estou no Brasil", devido a onda de ar quente que invadiu a aeronave assim que a aeromoça abriu as portas para o desembarque. Tive um tempo maravilhoso com os estudantes da ETED mesmo sabendo que tive que deixar minha esposa em Cape Town por toda a semana porem tenho certeza que o Senhor ministrou aos nossos corações de forma muito profunda e pessoal, nos lembrando sobre evangelismo, a grande comissão e muito mais! Os alunos são maravilhosos e apaixonados por Jesus e pelos perdidos. Foi muito divertido vê-los praticando algumas estrategias de evangelismo entre si. Tambem os ensinei 2 dramas que eles usarão no tempo pratico da escola. Retornei ao lar na Sexta dia 13... Obrigado pelas oracoes! Thomas

We strongly feel that the Lord wants us to go to Zambia, Zimbabwe and Malawi on a 20 days (October 22nd to November 12th) outreach trip to the three countries, we will take a team of 5 or 6 people with us so that we can do evangelism through performing arts (mimes, dances, drama and music). We will reach out to people in the streets, schools, orphanages, villages and many others. Please pray for us, pray also especially for Zimbabwe, things seem to be getting better but there is still a lot to be done and you can help! We need the equivalent to U$ 1500 to cover all the expenses (trip, food, accommodation, ministry expenses) for Rosaria and I. Please refer to the right of this page for diretions on how to give towards our ministry :)

Sentimos que o Senhor esta nos direcionando para fazermos uma viagem evangelistica de 20 dias (22 de Outubro a 12 de Novembro) a Zambia, Zimbabue e Malaui, iremos levar uma equipe de 5 ou 6 pessoas que farao evangelismo criativo (teatro, danca, musica e drama) juntamente conosco. UofN workshop - workshop da universidade das Nações

Hi, we are approaching a very exciting event, the University of the Nations workshop which will happen at four different locations at the same time - Ukraine, Switzerland, Egypt and South Africa. We are so excited and privileged for having South Africa as one of the workshop locations, many people and YWAMers will fly from all over the world to attend this very important time for us as a mission. The workshop will take place from the 7th to the 12th of September, it will be a key time when YWAMers and missionaries from all over the world will get together to discuss and learn more about the amazing training opportunities that YWAM offers so we can be more effective in fulfilling the Great Comission (Mk 16, 15)

We are trusting God for the following amount in order to join and attend the workshop in South Africa: R3600 or U$ 470 - This will cover all expenses (registration, accomodation and food) for Rosaria and I.
